European Flint and Magnesium Fire Starter With Handle

The large African Padauk wood handle makes these fire starters much easier to use than a standard ferro rod. The handle can also be shaved for additional tinder.

These robust and easy-to-use fire starters are made in Montana and feature true European ferrocerium. Most of the ferrocerium products on the market today are not the correct alloy, which makes them much harder to use. The original and best alloy still comes from Europe. 

The easy-to-shave magnesium is easily ignited with the ferrocerium and burns a 5000 degrees even in the wettest of conditions.

These fire starters are a must-have on any backcountry adventure.

Best Flint and Steel I have ever owned

I got this flint and steel over 10 years ago a the denver sportsman expo as a gift from my father. I remembered the guy at the booth explaining the wood handle and how you can scrape the handle to have little wood shavings in your tinder pile and that was what sold me. This strikes better than any other ferro rod with how smooth it is and how many sparks it puts off. The magnesium is easy to scrape off and catches fast. I have kept this in my truck and backpack in the back country and although I have never had to use it, I have used it a few times just for fun and it works flawlessly. It took me a while to find this company but I am so happy they are still making these and I am about order a few more to hopefully never have to buy a different ferro rod again. I am only about half way through my striking metal with still plenty of magnesium left but I have not found anything that works as well as these. 12/10 if I were on the show ALONE, this would be my ferro rod.
